Re:  Where is YOUR GREEN Thumb!

We ALL need to thank those who have volunteered to raise the funds that will raise the awareness of agriculture!

Last month we announced the Foundation’s 2^nd annual raffle for a John Deere LA105 Lawn Tractor as the grand prize; the winner to be selected at the December New York Farm Bureau State Annual Meeting.  We asked for volunteers who would like to help with this fundraiser in any capacity and the results are startling…we already have batches of sold tickets!  Our industry needs to “sow the seeds of understanding”.  Without an understanding, the bonds of neighbors, community and the regulatory atmosphere are all strained and agriculture is NOT the winner it needs to be. The funds raised finance our programs and projects that work FOR agriculture.

This year’s raffle will bring the dealerships directly into our network and highlight their important role for all who foster a “green” New York (meaning the green of the countryside and the ag industry). 

We need YOUR help with this major fundraiser.  Contact your local John Deere dealer to be sure your local dealership is on our list of supporters and call us to get your supply of tickets so you can present your neighbors with the opportunity to support agriculture and possibly add a beautiful lawn tractor to their family. 

Raffle tickets are available through our volunteer network or just send us a check for $10, and we will forward your raffle ticket stub.

Re:  Second Annual “Green” Raffle
Fundraising Can Be Fun!

Who wouldn’t want a brand new John Deere lawn tractor?  The Foundation’s 2^nd annual raffle features a John Deere LA105 Lawn Tractor as the grand prize; the winner will be selected at the New York Farm Bureau State Annual Meeting in December.  Taking our agricultural community into the project, we will utilize our grassroots equipment dealerships, which are a mainstay of New York’s agricultural network.   This year’s winner will be able to pick up his tractor at a “supporting dealership*”.  (*A supporting dealership has contributed a minimum of $25 for each dealer location.  This donation will help to underwrite a variety of Ag education programs.)

As members of the Ag. Community we all have something to gain through an applied educational program for the consumers of New York State.  This is an opportunity to support a network that works FOR agriculture in a variety of ways.  The Foundation was initiated by those within the agricultural community to fill a need for a raised level of knowledge by all those we interact with in a variety of ways.  Our programs and projects have yielded abundant positives, but we have barely touched the surface and have tremendous opportunities.  We need your support to make this fundraiser all that it can be.
